If you have been to the Clay County Courthouse or any of the Cornerstone Bank locations in the county, you may have noticed the return of the Clay County Giving Trees.
It is that time of the year again, and trees filled with gift tags have been placed throughout the county for residents to help those less fortunate have a Merry Christmas this year, too.
About 900 tags are scattered around the county trees this year, representing the gift wishes of about 380-390 Clay County residents, around the same number, if not a few more than last year’s Giving Tree efforts.
Judy Barnes, one of the organizers for the giving tree, noted that this year, they had to step back from having three tags per person to two tags per person, with some kids having three.
